Yo! It's been a while... Yes, I'm blogging now cause I have much more free time...Lemme see... Events of the week...I went cycling around Singapore with Timothy on Wednesday... Apparently, he has a much better sense of direction than I have! (you can't get any worse...) So we cycled down to Pasir Ris (where I felt very awkward wandering my school in home clothes..) from Simei (I FOUND THE MISSING LINK!!!), to Tampines to Bedok Reservoir to Kembangan to Bedok and finally back home. I didn't get lost, hooray! It was fun cycling around the park connectors. There is one part where I was cycling downhill so my bike kept going... Until I braked, where my bike skidded (more like drifted...) to a stop. That was heart-stopping. Then I went to Kembangan to ask for an internship to a pet clinic, AND I GOT IT!!! WOOHOO!!!The first day at the clinic was rather interesting. There was a very cute kitten with an eye infection and a flu, some cat with gingivitis (look up a dentist if you don't know what's that...) which causes it to drool non-stop. It looks rabid. O.o There was a dying cat, that finally died today... There was also a rather scruffy-looking ginger cat with an eye infection and a fungal infection that could spread to humans... O.OI saw many things on my first day. First off, I saw a sterilisation of a male dog, which is relatively similar to that of a human's. Anaesthetic and all. Poor doggie was still a bit out when it regain consciousness. Apparently, when the animal is first knocked out, the most important thing to check is the breathing. THE DOG STOPPED BREATHING!! O.O! But it started breathing after a while... There was a difference in the speed of heatbeats when it was and was not breathing. (The doc lent me a stethoscope to hear the difference...) Also, the balls of a dog looked remarkably similar to those I read in a textbook... (except I was looking at a diagram of a human's one... Biology...) I found out surgeries are always exciting to watch. I also saw the doctor treating various kinds of animals, quite a number were suffering from malnutrition and dehydration due to their illnesses. There was even a kitten found on the streets with a bit of paralysis, causing it's hindlegs to be less responsive than normal. As for me, as I was still a newbie there, I mostly watched others do stuffs and try to learn from there. (There were other interns too.) It was a very enriching, exciting, most fascinating experience ever. Though I was told the job gets into a routine, but... Not all animals are the same. How much of a routine can it get?Anyway, today, I went back. This time, there were cats for sterilisation. It was a rather packed day... (And I left half-way... Cramps. Gotta hate being a female...) The sterilisation was most unusual for cats. For females, the oviducts and the tubes were cut out, unlike it being tied in humans. The doc was supposed to sterilise 2 cats, but the second cat was pregnant!! Cute!! I could feel the foetus inside the cat. There was supposed to be 3 kitties on the way! So cool!! For the male cat, all the doc did was to cut and pop the balls out. XD He later told me cats recover from such things much better than dogs, and do not require the more complex procedures needed for a dog. There was also a dog that came in with bloody urine... @_@ Poor doggie!!! He already has heart problems + diabetes + arthritis... Now plus this urinal tract infection... It was quite visibly struggling... T-T My heart went out for the doggie... I left after that, so I don't quite know what happened in the clinic after that... However, as one of the interns (the most active one...) is leaving, it means I would be taking over her jobs... (which is everything... @_@) Tase kete anyone?Ooo! For driving, I learnt parking! Aside from the fact that I still have problems braking on time and I nearly hit a truck, I could park!!! Yay! I reversed too fast... >.< And driving at night is way nicer than driving in the day. First, not much traffic! Second, the night lights are pretty! And there were not much clouds that night, and I could see the stars! Not much though. Singapore's too bright...Hopefully, tomorrow will be as interesting as today. Excluding the pain...

Yo all! I am losing my sanity due to boredom, loneliness and a lack of a sense of direction.
Let's start with the "brightest" idea of the day: cycling. That idea wasn't too bad, until I decided to try to cycle to Pasir Ris and back, cause I got some award from school. I quite like cycling. it's very fun (Especially if you are cycling with me... it's called Self Entertainment.) Yeah... I talk to myself, the birds and the bike when I cycle. ^-^ Anyway, I got lost quite a few times... At least... First stop, Singapore General Hospital... I have no idea how I got there. Man, I'm supposed to go to Pasir Ris! Next stop, Tampines Community Complex. (At least it's nearer now...) Finally, after a few more detours, I made it to MJC! I got my little check ($$$), and decided to cycle back... (Duh... my bike's down there...)
This time, I decide to go by the park connectors. As the name suggests, it's a whole series of road networks that should take me back to somewhere near my house.
Lesson No. 1: NAMES ARE MISLEADING!!!
Apparently, the connectors kinda stopped at Tampines and I have no idea how to get to Bedok Reservoir Park.. (Regardless of what those arrows say...) And I spent a nice long hour or so cycling back and forth in order to discover WHERE IN TAMPINES AM I!!! Zzz... Singapore ain't that big you know... But still... T-T
In the end, I ended up taking a detour to Simei and then to Bedok... Only to discover that there is actually a Simei Park Connector that might have served as a shortcut...
God has blessed me with a "perfectly wonderful" sense of direction and I AM GONNA MAKE FULL USE OF IT!!! T-T *sobs*
I made it back in time for a very late lunch...
Discovery No. 2: I WAS OUT FOR 3 BLOODY HOURS!!! *SOBS*
Zzz... For those of you that know... Pasir Ris is only a 15 minute drive from my home... But it seems that having no sense of direction tends to elongate the travelling time... I wonder how am I gonna drive a car in the future...? O.O!!!
To end off my day "perfectly", riding 3 hours in the sun creates: SUNBURNS! Yay... Roasted human anyone?
