Long Time no See
Tuesday, December 16, 2008 4:56 pm
Yo! Congrats for those who check my blog (hey Trish!) cause there has been nothing on it for 2 years!!! A hell lot of things has happened since then. (Obviously...)Ok. Summary: I got 11 points for O'levels, so I went MJC. I join the dance club there, and I never wanna dance again... (It was the most traumatising moments of my life...) I made a few friends, whom I never keep in touch... (I suck at such things...) And I'm having a personal economic crisis of my own. (I used up all my savings... NOOOO!!!) So now, I have finished my A'levels, which was a killer, ( I got E for Chinese...) and am waiting for my results around Jan to March. (Btw, my bio teacher gave me a stuffed husky cause I got A for my biology during prelims. Woohoo!!!)Now, onwards to the highlights of my life: Israel - The turning point of my life. O.oMy first 2 days were spent travelling on the plane and bus... First stop: Doha, where we had a short city tour while we wait for the transfer flight. Next stop: Petra. Here, we met Hasshim the Half-Holy. I never knew what he was talking about except that we were walking the path of those from Exodus. (For those bible-idiots like me, it's the second book of the Bible.) He was ranting about something involving Alexander the Great and Julius Ceasar (both whom I believe never existed except in stories...) and about some form of history... Dude... There is a reason why I failed history in secondary school... -_-"Anyway, he brought us to the city of Petra, where "Indiana Jone and the Lost Tomb" (or was it the Lost Ark...) was featured. he also showed us the "magical" features of the rocks where it has the potential to serve as wonderful skincare products. It was amazing. *sarcastic* Oi, I ain't interested... Finally, we walked back to the bus (It was a looooooooooooooooooooong walk...) for rest. Next stop: Mount Nebo. It was a historical moment, where Moses saw the Promise Land and died... It was a miracle that we could see the land at all, since it was supposed to be covered in fog... (We had really strong winds instead...) Actually, thorughout the trip, there were many miracles that seemed so small, yet it was significant in so many ways... Anyway, onwards with the recount. Finally, we arrived in Israel, where we met our new guide, Joni. She is almost literally a bundle of energy for God.Anyway, she took us to the Dead Sea where we floated on the waters, to the Jordan River where my brothers and I were baptised *hooray!*, to Megiddo where the last battle is said to take place , to Masada which was an old fortress where the jews made the choice of dying as free people of God rather than be slaves, to the Sea of Galilee where many things happened, to ... many other places, and finally to Jerusalem where we entered many tunnels as everything from 2000+ years ago have been buried underground. We went to the Western Wall (Wailing Wall...) where some people prayed to God. (Dude, you don't need a wall to talk to God...) We learnt about the history of Israel, its battles, and many more... (My memory is good, but not that good...) >.<Moving on, we also visited Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus. (Apparently, in those days, food troughs were made of stone... Poor Jesus...) and Nazareth. We went to the Shepherd's Fields were shepherds saw angels which pointed them in the direction of Jesus' birthplace. We also saw Golgotha, where Jesus is said to be buried before he is risen, to ... If I tell you every place I've been to, you would die of boredom, so let's move on my experiences... (In case you didn't notice, I'm dying to share it...) ^-^let's see... 'member I said there were many miracles on the trip? Well... First of all, we saw some idexes (or an idex), which were almost inpossible to find during the boiling afternoon, (which we were looking in said afternoon) and I saw 'em! I saw 'em! *hearts* Though I only saw 2, at least it was better than none. 'Sides, I also saw a group of 'em on the way to the place. (I was praying to see them, you see...) And they came true! It's like making a wish, and watching it come true. To me, it was beyond magic. We also saw rain in Israel! (For a country with 7 months of drought, it's a miracle alright!) We also saw a rainbow (double rainbows!!!) with a full arch. It was by far, the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! I was also baptised in the Jordan River, same as Jesus. (It was bloody cold... The pastor could feel the vibrations of our shiverings through our clothes...)We also went to the Sea of Galilee where we fed the seagulls there with bread we "stole" from the hotel... (Hey, it was free...) It was by far the most memorable moment of my life. Imagine... You throwing bread to the birds where they would swoop down to snatch it out of the sky... With the wind in your face... It felt like just me, the birds, and God. If only I can put it in words... There are some things and events where even words can only describe the tip of the iceberg of emotions and thoughts that occurred there. In the upper room, where the last Supper is said to occur, I heard one of the people with the group speak in tongues... I do not know what is being said, but there was something beautiful about it. Beautiful and fascinating... When I close my eyes, I can almost feel someone in front of me, staring into my soul. It was scary to say the least... I rarely open my heart to anyone (even though I talk a lot...) and for someone to stare right through me... it was scary and unnerving... To know that the one person that means the most in my life literally knows me inside out... and still loves me... (Pardon me while I bawl my eyes out...) I mean... I know people who don't even know me that well, and dislike my guts... Not very nice people... Moving on...During the trip, I also met some really cool people, mostly guys... O.O First, there was Matthew, then Marcus, Ezra, Joshua, then the girls, Anna and Steph... (The girls were outnumbered 2:1... Sobs...) Joshua is like, an excellent musician! He can play the guitar, bass, drums... Matthew too! It's like, almost all the guys can play at least one instrument! Nick, my cousin, can play nothing... Nothing but the computer that is... I bunked with my other cousin Trish, Nick's sis. We grew pretty close since then. Now... I plan to work as an Animal Keeper in the Zoo, however, I have no work experience, so chances of me getting the job is low... But I still plan to learn manga drawing and Japanese... So I'm still scouting round...
Oh yeah... 'Member I said my dance was trumatising? I was also spiritually low... As in, I was quite depressed and stressed and basically need God... Due to the dance concert (of horror) I had to perform in... I wrote a poem as a cry to God about it... Here:
Letter to God: Can You Love Me?
Can You love someone? A girl who doesn't know What she wants, or where to go A girl who doesn't seem to shine No matter how you polish A child who doesn't believe In herself anymore
Can you love someone? A girl who made many mistakes And repeats them again A girl who is a sinner That doesn't seem to repent A girl that seems to put Everything first, and You last
Can You love someone? A girl that doesn't know How to care or cherish A girl who has no heart For comfort or joy A girl that loves But doesn't know how
Can You love someone? A girl that doesn't know How to talk to You A child that is unable To hear Your voice A child that is too blind And can't see You at all
Can You love someone like me?
