Today is CNY! Yay! And I received a few smses to wish me happy new year in CHINESE. -_-
Nothing wrong with it... EXCEPT I CAN'T READ IT!!! ARGH!!! ;_;
But other than that, I appreciate the messages. ^-^
Today's CNY started out on a relatively new note for me. Within the past year/month or so, especially with CNY coming up, I started learning about different people and their family problems and how they dread CNY, etc.
And it made me view CNY slightly differently.
My CNY has always been loud, slightly crazy and full of family bonding. I suppose, after listening to the stories of other families, I've learnt to appreciate this bond that I have with my family more. At least, I've learnt not to take it for granted.
Also, I remembered being slightly troubled that most of the people on my grandma's side of the family are not Christians. As for why I want them to be Christians... Eh... That one... You have to be a Christian to understand it... Otherwise, you'd just think it's being narrow-minded, imposing, irritating, etc.
But to my surprise, I never knew one of my aunts there is a Christian. And a rather strong one at that. ^^" Shows how observant I am... I suppose it's a pleasant surprise. And when I talked to her some more, I realised that she actually stays in HK! Hahaha! Looks like I have a place to stay if I don't wanna room with the guys. XP
Coincidence? Maybe. ~_^
And when I went over to visit my grandpa's side of the family, I SWEAR! The elders there bully me!! They say since I learning TCM, must give them free massage (top request!), and diagnose them, ask me what they should eat/drink to be healthier, etc. XD
Haha! I know they're just teasing though. And it's encouraging, I guess, to see them supporting me in their own way, by being interested in my course and all. XD
All is good this year for reunion! And I hope yours ended well too!
